This handsome, miniature art book tells the story of the making of The Little Mermaid, Disney’s great 1989 animated feature. It is illustrated throughout in full color with production art and scenes from the film. This copy is signed on the front flyleaf by Jodi Benson, the singing and speaking voice of Ariel.
Hyperion's lavish Art of... book series on the modern Disney animated features began with The Lion King in 1994; there was no such book for The Little Mermaid. Publication of this smallish volume in November, 1997 served to fill that gap in conjunction with the film's simultaneous theatrical re-release.
